4043: Development and Implementation of an Evidence-Based Alcohol Withdrawal Order Set for use with Hospitalized Patients      
Many patients admitted to hospitals are at risk for development of alcohol withdrawal syndrome. If early symptoms are not identified and treated appropriately the patient suffers and care becomes much more complex. This presentation describes the development an evidence-based order set to decrease serious symptoms of alcohol withdrawal in hospitalized patients.

1. Identify the nurse led process of developing and implementing a new alcohol withdrawal order set in an acute care hospital.   
2. Describe an evidence-based alcohol withdrawal order set for use with hospitalized patients.      
3. Describe outcomes of a new alcohol withdrawal order set used in treatment of hospitalized patients.
