Session Objectives
Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
1. Discuss childhood trauma's impact on health and discuss current literature on the relationship of early trauma to mental illness and substance use disorders.
2. Describe the basic principles of trauma-informed care and analyze psychiatric systems and treatment facilities for opportunities to implement trauma- informed care.
3. Examine barriers to implementing trauma-informed care and possible solutions.

 

Continuing Nursing Education
2.0 contact hours. * In order to receive contact hours, you must:  Listen to the entire session, complete an evaluation, and earn a passing score on the post test before the expiration date. You will have 5 tries to correctly answer the questions on the post test.  Once you have passed and completed an evaluation, the certificate will be generated online, available for you to print immediately. We cannot award credit unless all steps are completed.
