Anyone working in nursing or health care is confronted with boundary issues. The boundary continuum is fraught with gray areas that require thought and discussion. Join us for 4 interactive webinars with Nancy Dillon, APNA member and renowned boundaries expert. Webinars will occur on:  Tuesday, January 14th;  Tuesday, January 28th;  Tuesday, February 11th;  Tuesday, February 25th. All webinars are at 7pm Eastern / 6pm Central / 5pm Mountain / 4pm Pacific.

This live webinar series is designed for nurses who work directly with or consult with patients, their families or other providers.  It is intended to provide nurses with a foundational knowledge related to professional boundaries.  It will cover the boundary continuum, dual relationships and common issues and scenarios in which nurses find themselves. Guidelines for analyzing boundary issues will be provided, along with strategies for maintaining healthy boundaries.

This is a series of 4 webinar sessions. Each session is foundational for the next webinar. As such, contact hours will be given as a unit at the end of the 4th webinar. Reminders and detailed instructions for login and access will be sent via email before each session.

By the end of this webinar series, participants will be able to:

    • boundary challenge
    • boundary crossing
    • boundary violation
    • dual relationship
  2. Describe the purposes of boundaries in professional relationships.
  3. Describe the relationship between power and boundary issues.
  4. Describe the risks of boundary transgressions to patients and staff and the institution.
  5. Identify strategies analyzing boundary issues.
  6. Identify strategies for establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries.

Continuing Nursing Education
4.0 contact hours. * In order to receive contact hours, you must:  Participate in all 4 live interactive webinars, complete an evaluation, and earn a passing score on the post test before the expiration date. You will have 5 tries to correctly answer the questions on the post test.  Once you have passed and completed an evaluation, the certificate will be generated online, available for you to print immediately. We cannot award credit unless all steps are completed.
